Season 6 recap Spoilers — open after watching
This recap reveals the events of season 6.
The team reassembled around a mole, and a choice on a tarmac that leaves Ziva behind in Tel Aviv.
Vance's scattering turns out to be a hunt: the new faces seeded into Gibbs' team
include the lead the director has been running quietly - a mole inside the
agency, resolved in blood within the season's first movement, after which the
family is restored piece by piece and the year gets to its real subject: Ziva.
Her father, Eli David, directs Mossad like a chess problem with his children as
material. His officer in Los Angeles - Michael Rivkin - becomes Ziva's lover and
his instrument in America, working a kill list on US soil past every line NCIS
can tolerate. The collision is the season's endgame: Rivkin dead on Ziva's
apartment floor by DiNozzo's gun in a fight the show stages as genuinely
ambiguous, Ziva's loyalty split at the bone, and the team flying to Israel to
answer for it in Eli's own building.
The tarmac scene ends the year: Ziva, unable to trust DiNozzo's account or her
own heart, stays in her father's world - and the closing frames spend her:
reassigned to a Mossad operation in North Africa, a camp in Somalia, a
captor's fist, and a cut to black on the question of whether anyone is coming.
