What a notice must include
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a notice must include:
- a physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or of someone authorised to act for them;
- identification of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed;
- identification of the material you believe is infringing and where it is on this site, such as its URL;
- your name, address, telephone number and email address;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the copyright owner.
Repeat infringers
We remove or disable access to material that is the subject of a valid notice. In appropriate circumstances, we terminate the access of subscribers and account holders who are repeat infringers.
