Season 15 recap Spoilers — open after watching
This recap reveals the events of season 15.
Two months in a Paraguayan cage, a homecoming that does not quite take, and Abby's last goodbye.
The premiere buys Gibbs and McGee out of captivity at visible cost - two months of a rebel camp, and a season that, to its credit, keeps the damage on the books: McGee's anger surfaces sideways, Gibbs answers a review board with characteristic economy, and the year's early cases keep tripping over what the two of them will not discuss.
The season's texture is family ledger work: Delilah and McGee's twins announced, Vance's kidnapping arc, Bishop and Torres inching toward something neither names, and Sloane - a new operational psychologist with her own buried file - installed upstairs with a jar of licorice and a reading of Gibbs that lands more often than he likes.
Its farewell is the one the fanbase felt most. A contract killing aimed at Abby - taking Reeves, the MI6 liaison, as he shields her - closes her seventeen-year run: she works her own case from the hospital bed, declines vengeance on principle, and leaves to build something kind in Reeves' name, the show letting its most beloved character exit on grace instead of a gravestone.
