How long to watch a TV series? Binge-time calculator

By BingePath · Guide reviewed September 28, 2026

Your viewing plan is the selected episodes’ total runtime divided by the time you watch each day. The calculator rounds up to a whole day and lets you compare the full catalogue with each published path.

The table uses each show’s first published path. The calculator above also offers its alternate routes. A character or themed selection covers its named thread; its smaller total does not make it a substitute for the entire show.

Why the result is an estimate

These totals come from the runtime metadata already stored with BingePath’s episode catalogue. Some entries use broadcast-slot lengths, which can include time for advertisements. The result can be longer than a streaming service’s actual play time. Credits, recaps, playback speed and your own breaks also change it.

This page compares the current stored catalogue, not a live feed of every episode released today. An ongoing show can have scheduled entries in its catalogue or seasons that a path has not yet mapped. In particular, the NCIS path does not map seasons 23–24, and SVU’s continuing thread does not map seasons 2–4 or 24 onward. Check the linked path before planning a catch-up.

The calculator divides minutes into a daily budget; it does not place whole episodes into sessions. A 60-minute episode will not fit a 30-minute evening unless you split it. Allow extra days if you prefer to stop between episodes.

How to plan without turning TV into homework

Start with a pace you already enjoy. At 60 minutes a day, 1,800 minutes of television takes 30 days. At 90 minutes it takes 20. Those are viewing days: watching five nights a week spreads the same commitment over more calendar time.

Then decide what you are watching for. A main-story path can reduce the commitment for a case-of-the-week show. A character path can make a satisfying return visit. A tightly connected drama may be better left intact.

Compare shows with shorter routes if the full catalogue is too large, or choose a shorter complete series from the table. You do not have to cut a show to make room for one.
