Game of Thrones, season 6

Melisandre, at her lowest, is asked to try; Jon wakes gasping, hangs his killers, and lays down his watch - his death having ended the contract. The season builds toward Winterfell: Ramsay's letter, an army of wildlings and loaned knights, and a battle that is all mud, crush and cavalry, decided by the Vale arriving unannounced and by Wun Wun's last door. Ramsay is fed, appropriately, to what he starved. A room of Northern lords proclaims the White Wolf, and a raven's vision confirms in parallel what he has never known - whose son he actually is.

Bran, north of the Wall, learns the cost of his gift twice over: the Children created the Walkers as a weapon that slipped its leash, and a moment's carelessness inside a vision marks him, dooms the Three-Eyed Raven, and spends Hodor - holding a door decades before he was asked to.

In King's Landing, Cersei declines to attend her own trial. The Great Sept goes up in a bloom of green fire with the High Sparrow, Margaery and half her enemies inside, and Tommen steps quietly out of a window. Nothing remains to check her; she takes the throne herself.

Arya crosses a name off in the Twins wearing another face. Daenerys, finally, sails - dragons overhead, Ironborn and Dornish and Tyrell fleets around her, Tyrion beside her as Hand.
