Booth & Brennan: from partners to the wedding
Follow 22 selected relationship milestones from the Bones pilot through season 9, episode 6. This route keeps the slow-burn turning points in broadcast order, including the flashback episode and the season-six transition.
For returning viewers who want the relationship’s route to the wedding. This is not every Booth-and-Brennan scene, all of their married life or a complete first-watch path. It stops in season nine; seasons 10–12 are outside its scope. Some criminal investigations appear only where they change the relationship, so use the separate case guides when you want those investigations in full.

Is this the same as Bones Essentials?
No. This list is specifically about the relationship up to the season-nine wedding. Essentials follows a broader selection of recurring stories across the show. Neither is an exhaustive list of their scenes, and the remaining episodes are not being labelled filler.
Why keep the flashback episode in season five?
The Parts in the Sum of the Whole (S05E16) shows events before the pilot, but it is framed by a present-day conversation. Moving the whole episode to the beginning would move that later relationship material too. Broadcast order preserves how the show reveals the history.
Where does this relationship guide stop?
The Woman in White (S09E06). The list is deliberately bounded at that milestone; it does not claim to cover the later marriage or the series finale. Continue through the regular episode list for what follows, or use a case guide to revisit an investigation without following every relationship beat.

Do Booth and Brennan get together in season five?Spoilers
No. Season five’s flashback and confession do not make them a present-day couple. The turning point is The Hole in the Heart (S06E22); The Change in the Game (S06E23) confirms the development when Brennan tells Booth she is pregnant with his child. Season seven begins with them together.
Which episode has their first kiss?Spoilers
Their first on-screen kiss in broadcast order is The Santa in the Slush (S03E09). The Parts in the Sum of the Whole (S05E16) later reveals a kiss during their earlier first case, before the pilot. First shown and first in their history are different answers.
Are they already married in the season-four finale?Spoilers
The End in the Beginning (S04E26) presents an alternate scenario associated with Booth’s coma and Brennan’s writing. Its married-couple setup is not their present-day relationship status. Continue with Harbingers in the Fountain (S05E01) for the aftermath.
When do Booth and Brennan get married?Spoilers
Their wedding is in The Woman in White (S09E06). The Sense in the Sacrifice (S09E04) removes the Pelant obstacle and leads toward the wedding; it is not itself the wedding episode.
