This recap reveals the events of season 13.
The Devil's son turns out gentle, and a door to a worse world stands open.
Jack is days old, adult-bodied, terrified of his own inheritance - and the season's bet is that nurture wins: he imprints on Castiel's memory and Sam's patience, flinches from Dean's loaded grief, and spends the year trying to be good at a power that levels buildings when he sneezes. The show's kindest arc, run through its bleakest geography.
Apocalypse World is that geography: the rift-side earth where Michael won, humans are vermin, and Mary and Lucifer both landed. Getting them back organises the year - Jack finds Mary; the brothers commute by rift; and the resistance over there is run by battle-hardened versions of dead friends, Bobby and Charlie among them, which the show plays for exactly the ache it is worth.
Lucifer, degraded and grace-starved, spends the season as a hustler impersonating his own legend - and heaven, down to single digits of angels, nearly buys it. Gabriel turns up alive, broken and porn-funded, and pays his arrears at the rift. Rowena, resurrected once more, inches toward something like conscience.
It ends with the refugees evacuated to the bunker, a family portrait for one episode - and then the collapse: Lucifer, at full old power, takes Jack's grace and offers Dean the only counterweight. Dean says the yes he refused for a decade - Michael's sword at last, on his own terms - kills the Devil in the air, and loses the terms: the last shot is Michael in Dean's body, walking out in a good coat.
